Modern open-plan office in new building
Ostermann, known for furniture edges and fittings, furniture roller shutters, furniture fronts, decorative wall coverings or sliding doors, has built a new office and administration building for 170 employees in North Rhine-Westphalia’s (Germany) largest industrial park.
Ostermann has been successfully selling products for joinery requirements for over 75 years. The expanding company now employs around 500 people across Europe. Ostermann headquarters is located in North Rhine-Westphalia’s largest continuous industrial park in the Mussum district of Bocholt. A new office and administration building has been built onm the site, including a new parking space with around 144 car and 70 bicycle parking spaces.
Energy consumption is a major focus in the four-storey new building
Under the leadership of Kempkes & Storm Architekten GmbH, a new four-storey building was built that draws attention with red facade elements. The photovoltaic systems installed on the roof are designed to cover the entire electricity consumption. In addition to a central ventilation system and an air-to-water heat pump, underfloor heating was also installed to provide heating in winter and cooling in summer. The LED lighting has daylight control and presence detection, which reduces energy consumption, while increasing comfort and safety in the building.
Visual accents on the office ceiling
The new building is flooded with light thanks to many large windows. It offers space for a total of 170 workstations, including a meeting and break room on the upper floor. The office spaces are spacious and open in line with the open-space concept. The individual workstations look like small islands that are separated by half-height elements and furniture made of light wood. The dark green elements and plants stand out from the dark purple floor and white walls.
Strong design accents can also be found on the ceiling. The installed Troldtekt acoustic panels in natural wood match the wooden furnishings and contribute to the feel-good atmosphere. In the wide access zones, which allow for quick and easy movement between work areas, ceiling panels from the Troldtekt Tiles T24 design solution emphasise the function and allow easy orientation in the room with a linear pattern.
The suspended acoustic panel ceiling was installed in the visible T24 profile system, which enables easy installation and disassembly, e.g. for inspection and maintenance of installations above the ceiling. The profile system is colour-coordinated with the acoustic panels to create a homogeneous yet structured ceiling surface.
